ATAK = Advanced Tactical Angling Kayak?!  :smt044

I guess I'll need to break out my tactical turtleneck when I demo it.

Can one get the newest seat on the Tarpon line? Is the hull design just so much better for the ocean with the thresher that it's head and shoulders above the Tarpon line in that arena? I don't think I'd ever buy a boat like the ATAK because it's design seems so one dimensional. Definitely interested in the Thresher,  but just so used to the T120.

I would not say the Thresher is head and shoulders above the Tarpon in the ocean. It will definitely be more stable than a Tarpon with better deck space. If you are on a 120 now you would love any of the larger Tarpons or Threshers. If you have not been on a longer kayak you need to try one out, you will wonder why you have been on a 120 so long.  The ATAK is not designed to be a boat for our ocean conditions here. It is really designed for east coast and southern flats fishing, inshore stuff like redfish etc. it will make a great bass platform too out here. Delta type waters, smaller lakes like the Bay Area lakes etc.

Yes it is larger than our other kayaks, that is why there are options in kayak designs. Get one for the type of fishing you will be doing. Tarpon, Thresher, Ride, ATAK. All designed for different things. More designs , options, and sizes than just about any other brand. 9 different sizes in those 4 models to suit different styles and areas of fishing.

We have to remember that people in other parts of the country/world fish from kayaks too....  we can't have EVERY kayak be ideal for our waters  :smt002

I need to my electronics on my Thresher's. I have been targeting species I need the FF to see structure. I need to paddle it more. I'm on my older Tarpon 160i and ride 135 lately because my Tarpon 160 has an electrical gremlin.

Anyone hear any more or tried the ATAK yet?  Looking for feedback!  On my consideration list to give it a try.

Still no word on this thing from anyone? I might be looking at picking up another rig for bass fishing, and the atak was caught my attention. What a tacky name though. Sounds like it should come with a bunch of paracord and mag pouches for the fishing battlefield.  :smt070
Or I may just be tired of the tactical word from when I was pretty heavy into firearms.
