and good luck on the truckee today.  sending out positive vibes.  This friday night I am planning to fly at the confluence and wade my up the middle fork if the conditions are good.  Either that or downstream on the north as a newcastle friend knows of a route that is only open on Fridays and weekends between the confluence and rattlesnake bar

Be careful down there and wear a pfd. Ya I know, but if you fall in that cold water... You could strait up die! I'll have mine on tonight even on the bank.  :fish4
Come on out! It's time to play. It's time for TROUT Bass and STRIPER. Let go of the hand brake!

great advice.  I have seen a pfd save a life at the confluence (one of the free loaner ones they used to (do they still do it) have under the bridge).

Made it out to Rollins today. I was on the water at 7 and off by noon. Fishing was off and only managed to catch one and the boat traffic started at 940. The plus side is I was with good company, the lake is small enough to explore almost all of it in one trip and had bald eagles 🦅 flying overhead. I will definitely recommend this lake to anyone that is looking for something in Placer  County

After getting tired of skunks and boat traffic at Folsom Lake I was at Rollins as well a few weeks ago actually camping overnight at Greenhorn campsite. Got evening and morning fishing without having to load and unload kayak gear. Loved it. Caught my first crappies and lots of catch & release small spotted bass. 6 miles from campsite launch allowed me exploring that arm of the lake. Some nice submerged trees holding fish. Probably even better bite with summer boaters gone. Will be back for sure.  And yes, there was no night restriction as far as I could tell.
