The weather appears ok on Sunday so I was going to try for some crab at HMB. I could use some company.

Launching at the old pier at 7am.

When I saw no replies to my post, I thought I must have been wrong about the good weather forecast but I decided to go check out the conditions in person. I really didn't want to go out by myself. I got to the old pier at a little after 7 and the parking lot was empty. There was no wind at all so I figured I'd give it a try.

I got out to about a little past parallel with the green bouy, and dropped 4 pots. Not another kayak in sight. I checked them in about a half hour and the first 3 were all tiny females. The last one had some undersized and a jumbo. I worked them for a total of 2 hours.  Pulled up the first 3 and got 2 more. One was a jumbo and 2 were just legal Pulled up the final pot , it had 2 huge jumbos and one legal size.

I ended up with a total of 6. Enough for dinner. Most of the big ones were in the one trap in about 39 feet of water.

Thats decent considering you dropped 4 pots. Wow..thats a long haul with that many pots. Do you have some type of mounts to keep them in place so they dont move/shift on your yak?

Actually, it's a box trap and 3 rings. I don't have any mounts. I stack the rings in the front and the box behind the seat on my outback. They seem to stay pretty well so far.
