My only Kokanee experience was on Bullard bar lake in my 12’ alum. Boat.  Only way to catch limit was using lead line, 4 colors out and a yellow rooster tail trolling slowly. This, however was many years again late 80’s early 90’s. So no help from me.

Hobie Kayaks / Re: 2021 OB cracked hull

I hope this is an isolated issue.  Unlike the drive well cracking issue my first 2004 OB then 2006 OB hulls suffered from.  The 2008 OB hull (3rd) was redesigned and Never had cracking issues. I hope Hobie resolved this for you.

That trip 13 years back was epic.  Glad I was able to attend.  Won’t be making the reboot sadly as Me & wife retired up to Crescent city and I sold my kayak a few years back.  I will be there in spirt and live vicariously through the posts after the event.

6-7 years old?  Yeah time for a replacement.  It my show 12.8 to 14 v but cannot supply steady current any longer.

The transducer won’t work through air to mark fish.  Transducers installed in hulls are either making solid contact by means of a solid glue medium (No air bubbles) or by a water bath, keeping the transducer submerged and no chance of any air bubbles under the transducer.

General Talk / Camper van under $10k
« on: November 18, 2020, 06:46:39 PM »
We're starting to look for a camper van (like Ramvan campers)  something that we would be able to fallback on if, for whatever reason we loose our home (Fire, flood, quake, etc)  Needs to be a van, as we cannot park a regular RV at our current home.  Any ideas?

General Talk / Retirement!

Big changes in store for me.  Retirement is upon me now!  Gave my work 2- week notice, we listed our home just before the darn CZU lightning complex fire hit our area, so weren’t sure how that was going to affect us,  but we got an offer during the evacuations!  We just needed to wait out the fire BS.  Our place for last 14 years has sold!
I have 3 and a half work days left here at my job then I make the 8hr drive up to Crescent City one last time!
Was looking forward to the clean, fresh air being close to the coast up there but the Slater fire burning there now has seen fit to interrupt that still.  Air quality there is poor at the moment.  I am looking forward to NO MORE COMMUTE!  I think I’ll miss the comradery I have here at my job. However I am looking forward to reshaping our front yard into my wife’s vision she has for it, while she’s happily pulling salads for us from her garden she has going!
I also plan to do pursuing some gold prospecting in the area.   Have pan will travel!

My little town of Felton survived! With possibility of only a few houses maybe at the top of our neighborhood that didn't Grateful the fire seems to have not passed the fire lines and  "Burntout" According to Cal fire briefing a few days ago.
Still, probably a week or more out till evac order might get lifted for Felton  :smt012
