Title: clear lake 12/5/06
Post by: H2Ospider on December 05, 2006, 08:28:33 PM
Perfect day on the big bass pond.   glass this evening, and a monster moon that allowed for some after hours time on the water.  Fished from the state park then east of kelsey creek. Things are still slow but I did take victims on a baby bass rip bait and with a thick shad flavored crank bait, both worked slow and on the points.  The fish o the day weighed in at 3.9#s   highland springs on thursday.

Nice bass!  I would have guessed over 4, but the scales don't lie!

Very good.

Nice FATTY! H2oSpidey!  I keep tossing cranks' but can never get one :smt010 I need to dedicate a day to rippin'cranks' along the points :smt011
East to Kelsey Creek out of the county park would be going LEFT? from the ramp? Isn't that all TULLIES? How far til the creek?
I've done good there in the Flt-tube tossing weightless Live-Crwlrs into them tullies on both sides of ramp! in spring & sum.

 Mooch,
I havnt been back to mendo yet. Was hoping to get a FF mounted before I go back (matrix 17).   Does the striper bite continue until the heavy rains show up? or what kind of timeline am I looking at to get "one of those".
Was planning on highland springs res. tommorrow morning after work, but mendo might be a good alternate plan.
The biggest challenge for me to get to Mendo is passing up Blue lakes without stopping on the way.

Adam,
I reported wrong, I was WEST of Kelsey creek yesterday
You would take a right turn out of COUNTY park to fish the points I did yesterday. Its a left turn when you head out from the STATE park.
Kelsey creek is very close to the state park ramp. The low water level makes fishing tough on the creek right now, but in the spring, it is a great place for sight fishing due to the clearer water flowing into the main lake.
A nice full day of fishing is putting in at county park(free parking), head east, to the state park and then fishing the creek, then head back to county park.
