Although these are not polarized, they are remarkably scratch-resistant. They are also easy to clean on the water, which is important to me, as I'm often getting splashed when piloting my AI, and I hate looking thru water drops. I have a fairly small noggin myself, and these fit great, but they might be a bit tight if you are a human cabezon...

SFD looks super-simple. But, are we really supposed to use a descending device, even if fish are caught in relatively shallow water? I usually fish for for bigger game, and generally barbless. I've released vast numbers of RF bycatch, and it's always no-touch--just grab the hook and shake. It seems to me that a descending device will have a lot more chance of harming the fish than what I do, with no possible benefit, at least in shallow(ish) water.

If this guys fishes back east, don't go for striped bass, he will laugh at you.

Also, if they are from MD or VA, and you tell them that you are fishing for rockfish, they'll think that you are targeting stripers.

Hopefully, someone can develop a fish identification app linked to the applicable regulations.
By taking a photo of a fish, it can tell species, size, (automatically capture GPS coordinate and date) and tell me if I can keep the fish or not and how many.

This would be a great project for one of my CS students, I'll try to pitch it and see if I can get any takers. It would be interesting to see how accurately fish can be ID'ed from pictures. I suspect there would be quite a few ambiguous cases, but at least the app could then tell you what to look for to distinguish between the possibilities...

... Trailerx model has a free upgrade in March to 12in tires which I'm trying to figure out if those are worthwhile.  My main concern is efficiency since I'm planning to tow with an EV and stopping to charge with a trailer seems a bit cumbersome.

My Trailex had the regular 8 inchers when I bought it, and last year I upgraded it myself to 12 inch. If you want the bigger wheels, it's probably best to buy it that way, as doing it myself was more of a hassle than I expected. Having said that, I'm not sure it's a big deal either way. Trailex used to insist that bigger wheels were of no value, and threatened to void the warranty if larger tires were used. I think they gave in simply due to customer demand, rather than because they were convinced that it is a good idea.

In any case, I've attached a picture with the 12" installed, and one of the original 8" next to it.
