I bought a curado 301e a while back and I like to change out the drag washer.i was making plans to try orange seal (Boca bearings).
So as I disassemble the reel I noticed that it barely has an grrase.i mean the gears (plastic ones)didn't have any grease and the drive gears barely had a smudge on them.

Has baitcaster always came with that little grease? Or is it just corporations just being cheap?
My biggest worry is that my wife(when I'm dead)will sell my fishing gear for what I said I paid for it

I didn't take pics until when I head halfway done. The yellow grease is from me (ardent reel butter)look at the amount of places I had to apply grease

The bearings that support the spool and drive had very minimal grease
