Group IQ is inversely proportional to the size of the group.

A Steelhead always knows where he is going, but a Man seldom does.

Ok one pic that kind of sums up the whole weekend. Infectious love, fun, awe, brother and sisterhood, people from afar, newcomers, oldsters, and all walks of life came together for one bad ass time.

Steve's awesome Chinook. 31 lbs even.

Good Times!  I got down there Friday evening in time to cruise through camp and see old friends - both those who I've previously met in person as well as those I hadn't yet.  It was very cool to check out a new place to me, and what a great setting for the the NCKA family to let it all hang out.  Got to bed at 1AM - not too many brews, just excited for the tourney!  Woke at 3AM and couldn't sleep any longer.  Got up just after 4 and got my boat down to the ramp while stars were still shining strong overhead.  Walked through camp and visited with other excited clubmates as they prepped their boats and gear.  Got on the water just after the first couple of paddlers - it was dark and the ocean was rough.  Making my way out in the dark through what was a somewhat narrow channel of safety into extremely sloppy rough conditions and a new-to-me Whistle Buoy was a great rush.  Trolled for salmon for hours until wooziness started getting me.  Moved inside to work chove on and near the bottom and got my sealegs back a bit.  Then on the radio it was a simultaneous salmon bite for Steve - the awesome 31 pounder - and then Allen/O2B.  That got me out there trolling again for a while, but the seasickness was winning.  It would turn out to be a day where more people than I could've imagined ended up saying they felt sick.  Got off the water just before check in and I'd only landed 4 underlings, 2 canarys and a sanddab - odd day, but great fun with great people.  A challenging ocean is never boring.  The tournament and potluck were a great pleasure.  Great thanks a JOB WELL DONE to Craig and Linelle and all who helped out.  Today a few more salmon were caught and I put in lots of trolling time, but it wasn't my time for more fish.  I'll give it a few days.   :smt003  Bailed out around 145 and home just before 5.  Can't wait til next year.   :smt001
