I will document the progress with the scupper14 on another thread.
Glad this chapter with this boat is over.
Swell was actually pleasant to work with, just unable to get me the boat.

When the kayak finally arrived it was as requested and looked amazing.
(One of the foot pegs was upside down) meh

Right now, I'm not sure how comparable these boats are.
Looking forward to finding out.

I'll be keen to see what you have to say about the Scupper. I just bought one from Liquid Fusion and it seems like a big upgrade from my old Perception Illusion.

Tested it in the river, paddling and flipping. It does indeed glide well, feels fast, especially for a fishing platform. More stable than I was expecting. It tracks really well, which is actually why LFK is selling them; they wanted something maneuverable for their "Whitewater of the Sea" workshops. This boat doesn't want to turn around, and I may end up putting a rudder on it.

Self-rescue was easy. You end up with a lot of water in the footwells, which gave me a chance to test out the much-ballyhooed scuppers. They actually do work, up to a point, leaving about 1" of water in after half a minute at whatever my top speed is. That's actually less water than my feet are usually sitting in with the Illusion. The seat on the Scupper has drainage channels to the footwells, so you aren't sitting in a puddle of water the whole time.

I want to fish with it a couple of times before starting in with mods, but I think a Scotty flush deck mount will be needed between the feet, and the tray with "Do Not Remove" embossed on it will almost undoubtedly be removed...

I got to a see a Swell for the first time recently in a shop in Port Orchard WA. boat looks like a rec boat more than a fishing boat.  access to the forward hatch looks difficult if you are on the water.  That really disappointed me.  As for the the rest of the boat it looked decent, and may do well if they have all the bugs worked out.
