Just clarifying for anyone reading this that on any one day you may keep only one Greenling.  Same for Cabezon.  So, if you keep a Greenling and a Cabezon, you can bring home 8 rockfish and two lings as well.

1 fish per person; also included in the 10-fish aggregate RCG Complex bag limit

The limit is actually two greenling >12 inches now.
There are two main types of greenling in California: kelp greenling and rock greenling. Again, both male and female can look very different from each other.

Rock greenling will have blue mouths and blue meat, just like cabezon and lingcod.
Pretty fish, indeed.

Could you please explain why it is called a Greenling when it is mostly red/brown/or orange and sometimes have no green at all?

Thank you
