I'm hoping to go to a non tankwell boat for next year. I've been looking at Craigslist and have seen a few Scupper Pros, but they were either too new (too much $$$) or beat up too much. I haven't seen a non-TW T160 for sale here in NorCal, and don't want to pay to have one shipped from the East Coast.

I'd preferably like boats that have little  or no outfitting done. I'm targeting $400 for the SP and $550 for the T160, for bare boats.

Adventure sports might actually have some. They have the biggest inventory of ws boats on the west coast.
Although I'm curious if your going non tankwell, why not a conventional sea kayak? You'd have a lot more paddling sensitivity.
Why Do I paddle a kayak instead of a float tube or a pontoon boat? I like seeing where I'm going not where I've been!
Paddle safe and wrap'em tight.

I've fished quite a bit from SIK's, not even owning my own SOT until this year. Heck, I've flyfished from a boat that is 20" wide. But you are really stuck in the cockpit of SIK. For most of the year, my opinion is that the ease of fisherman mobility with a SOT trumps the paddling performance of a good SIK. for instance, think of the logistical nightmare of trying to put out crab traps from a SIK.

Like everything he owns (except his workshop  :smt003), Shimizus T-160 is VERY clean.

Fishshim sold the T160 to a friend, so I'm still hoping for a T160 twin hatch.

Regards,
Scott
