I finished this blade over the New Year holiday.
It is longer than any of the fillet knives I currently use, so this will hopefully be used on a big seabass in 2019. I just ordered up a canvas knife roll that should hold my collection of fillet knives :smt004.

handle slabs are tan oak with a gunstock stain, pinned with brass and epoxied. The scabbard furniture is aluminum since I wanted to try and match the ss bolsters. I treated the leather with a beeswax based saddle-soap type of waterproofer.

Thanks for the kind words guys!

I will certainly be doing at least one more, just to utilize the ideas I came up with to make the build process smoother.

One will most likely end up as a prize somewhere, for some event.

the blade is frikkin sharp. I had it covered in cardboard for 99% of the build, and while doing final fitting of the sheath accidentally stabbed myself literally seconds after removing the protecting sleeve. :smt005
My hand has healed fine though.

I've watched many knife making videos but you are livin' it.  Not easy...I like the index finger area at the base of the blade.  Good stuff... :smt006

Next stop, Forged in Fire, filet knife episode... For the final round, you'll have to make a harpoon (to be tested on a whale made out of ballistics gel).

"Beautiful"  barely describes that !   I'd hang that up on my wall...  Great work.
