So...found out a few of you climb, or at least used to (like me!!)  :smt002

Me and Sledge are gonna dust off the old climbing shoes and go see how fat and out of shape we are!!

 :smt005 :smt044

Company Welcome!!

I will have two bouldering pads up there to soften the inevitable falls!!  :smt005

Turtle Rock is a very mellow, cool little boulder with flat grass landings, a lot of easy/moderate short problems and some harder eliminates/lunges/long traverses.

The views are great up there and Marin Brewing Company is a short drive away for after climb refreshments!!

 :smt004

We will be there by 10am...

You can stop at Paradise Foods to get snacks/drinks before heading up and they also have a nice restroom that you can use (none available up at the rock).

Here are directions/info:

Basically follow Paradise drive and then turn right on Taylor and go all the way to the top.

Taylor dead-ends at the top of the hill and you can park right there. Follow a fire road over to the right and then up over the hill to your left...walk over the hill and stay to the right when the fire road splits and you will see Turtle Rock down below.

The red star on the attached map shows where you would park and the circle is where the rock is...

The trail maps show exactly how to get there!!

If anybody is interested just let me know...my cell is 661-204-4933

 :smt006

Sincerely,

Jim

J-Tree, Tahquitz/Suicide, Yosemite.
In my prime I led 5.10.
Now I'm old and fat so I fish and golf :smt002

That soulds like a helluva lot of fun. Wish I could join you guys. The shoulder isn't quite there...yet.
I used to do a lot of free climbing back in the day.
I started CHUB scaling the rocks at Russian Gulch South (3 miles north of Jenner). That's a great all around place for all skill levels.

I always see people crawling all over that rock when I go up there to survey the fireroads. Guess it's a bay area favorite eh?
