Can anybody with knowledge on this brand shed light on whether $500 is a good deal for this
-
No

What is that a wilderness? Wilderness is a great brand but I wouldn't buy that kayak for fishing if that is what you're asking.
-
Looks like a Wilderness Commander 140. ***edit, looks like a 140. A 120 is being sold in classifieds for less.
-
Thanks for the replies guys. The kayak I have now is just a basic Walmart brand. I'm super cheap when it comes to buying things I don't need givin I have a boat. But I wanted something a little nicer while I save up for a hobie
-
if you plan to take it in the ocean i recommend a SOT. especially if you want to dive off it.
-
great if you're doing freshwater. looks more like a canoe.
side note: that's a nice rudder, would cost about 250 to install

I need to upgrade, I'm willing to spend up to $1000 if anybody knows anybody selling something around there send them my way

That is a great kayak, but not if you plan on hitting the ocean. Super stable for standing and sight fishing. Looks like a 120. Weimarian has one for sale for less $$$ in the classifieds. $500 is still a good deal on that kayak. It paddles very well too. No a rocket ship, but most kayaks today aren't.

Just curious how much a used Hobie Revo goes for.

I looked for a used Hobie ...
Pre 2015 averaged around $1400-$1800
2015+ averaged $1800-$2500
In my opinion, it was better to save a few more $$$ and buy new vs used with unknown issues.
Good luck with the hunt

If I wasn't forced to move into a larger location this month I woulda just went and bought a new one. Dealing with life's curve balls but desperately trying to upgrade from the Pos I have now before Albion

Tell ya what... I'm thinking of selling my 2009 lightly used ocean kayak prowler Trident 15 fishing model with updated mod pod, seat , paddle and some extras. $1000.00 would motivate me very well. Except for wanting a hobie, this would kill it at albion. it's tan. I have almost all Wilderness systems boats and the commander is awesome but can swamp and sink. NOT for ocean. That said, loved mine and only selling because i got the new Radar 135 pedal yak...

Don't rush it. If you're upgrading for ocean fishing you're better off with a sit on top kayak that can't swamp if a wave breaks over your bow. I remember one of the first times I surf launched. The bow punched through the surf and water and sand flooded the top of my kayak. It probably would have filled up a sit in kayak and a flooded kayak isn't a good place to be as you paddle out onto the ocean.

OK Trident 15 is an awesome yak to dive/fish off of in the ocean.
Lots of storage space for everything you need and more.
Trust me on this one cause I always over pack :smt003
I use mine for spearfishing, scuba diving, fishing, crabbing, clamming ....etc.
You should be able to pick up a new blemished one under 1K or used one for approx 700.
They are very popular ocean paddle yaks....stable and fast.
If you get one make sure it has the center mod pod for additional access to your hull.
The older prowler 15 models don't have this access but are still great yaks.

+100
I'm not an angler, but I've owned many of the most popular fishing kayaks at one point or another. "Only" have a T15 and Scupper Pro now. T15 will do everything that 90% of us want or need. The other 10% know who they are.
-
I’ll buy it. It will go nice w my other commander

Lol, yeah. AI owners, peddlers, someone who wants a super light scupper, or a take-the-kitchen sink guy who needs a 600lb capacity, etc. Or BigJim
