Hi all! It's been a long time coming, but I finally pulled the trigger and picked up an ocean kayak trident 13. Looking forward to trying her out on Humboldt Bay this weekend, and I'm stoked to leave the shore fishing behind. I'm not entirely inexperienced in kayak fishing, but still planning on taking it reaall slow to start off. Hope to see some of you out there and looking forward to hearing about your trips and benefiting from your wisdom!

Welcome to the madness, and be sure to read the safety threads.

Welcome.
as mentioned, read up on the safety stuff, outfit yourself properly, and consider taking an into to paddling class if you are completely new to the sport. It will shorten the learning portion of the experience dramatically.

As our much missed Mooch was fond of saying :
"we're kayakers first and fishermen second"

You are in a great spot for all types of kayak fishing. Have fun!
