hung out until 7:30 no rock hopper or cowboy bob  :smt010
i have never fish Bodega Bay until now head out pass horseshoe cove in search of rocks scratch up 3 rockfish all day lost one rod & reel 2 the ocean :smt010 :smt010 :smt013 in 10 feet of water was about 2 go in after it but i was all along  :smt017 no one 2 take care of my kayak

Sorry to hear you lost a rod and reel.  Ten feet of water huh, I think I would have gone in after it even if I was alone with my kayak. Where abouts did you loose it?

Just so you know, the area around horseshoe cove and mussel point is a no take marine reserve.  You need to stay 1000 ft from shore or roughly any depth greater than 30 ft of water.

Sorry to have missed you Gotbait. I got there at 7:05 and didn't see any kayaks around. Where did you park and launch from?

It was windy when we got there so Mike and I fished on the south side of Bodega Rock and just inside of the bay. Seemed like the wind calmed down and then picked up again in the afternoon. We didn't have any luck but the bay was loaded with mackerel, you couldn't troll without catching some. At times my fishfinder couldn't detect the bottom they were so thick.
