Got this boogie board on CL for $15 and decided why not. I see a lot of guys diving off of these. Made the float line 35'. Im not comfortable with going over 15' so will see if it gets tangled everywhere. I plan on putting a mesh slug bag in the middle and a fish clip somewhere else. Will take picks when finished but here it is so far.

Looking great Anthony!

May want to consider removable backpack straps....really makes a difference carrying all your gear down and back up...

For me...I clip the board off to kelp and then let the float line run free behind my speargun or ab iron while I dive...I found that if I left the line attached to the board it got tangled in the kelp too easy....

Joe Bloodbath sells cool dive flag mounts that you can put on your board to keep it visible...

Here is a quick clip that has some decent shots of my board in action.

And some pics of the rigging:

Kayakjack made my board and I got it at a silent auction two years ago at Albion... :smt007 :smt004 :smt007

That board is sick! Man that looked like some awesome water. How deep was that, 20-25? Thanks for the compliments and after seeing yours I have a 100 new ideas.

Already have the wife looking for campgrounds for our travel trailer. Want to make a weekend of it. I think my kids will dig the beaches down there. I know you can't ab dive down there but when I watch your videos I never see any. Are they wiped out from the otters?

There are plenty of awesome beaches and coves for the kiddos to explore.

Abs in Monterey County in my experience are mostly found back in cracks where the otters have not found them...I see very, very few out in the open, but have found some cracks with some decent sized ones here and there...NOTHING like the densities you see up in Sonoma/mendo though IMO.

Nice job. You saved yourself a lot of $$$ by making one!
May the fish be mighty and the seas be meek...
