I have been looking into my first big kayak purchase going from an ascend 10 and found a great deal on the kraken 15.5 just wondering if it's stable enough to stand and fish from. Beginning to gather there is no do it all kayak and I have been looking all over the Web and some say yes while others say not so much. Any info would be greatly appreciated. Also I'm 6'2 190 lbs if that makes any difference

Just bought a kraken and haven't practiced standing, I think you may find sitting to be the mo of salty fishing. I could be wrong, i've crawled forward, and turned completely backward over my seat to grab stuff, 5'8 163lb, steady but wiggly, with some chop you'll be sittin' quick. Maybe you could master standing and give me courage. Love my Kraken

I believe that kayak is designed for ocean fishing. It is not made for standing. If you like Jackson kayaks, they make other kayaks designed for standing.

It's definitely made for ocean fishing. Just liked the idea of the internal rod storage and speed of the kayak on big water seeing as I like to travel long distances just to fish one spot then bounce around the lake. Plus that seat looks more than plush for my occasional back flare up. Are there any events to where you can demo quite a few kayaks in a day? I'm in fresno.

Awesome! Thank you for the info. I was planning a trip there on Wednesday to check out an actual kayak shop. Places in this area are pretty limited.

Standing on the Kraken is doable.
I've done it but I wouldn't recommend it. I tried it at the lake a few times with no gear.
It wasn't designed for standing but I know people do it on a regular basis. I'm sure with a little practice it could be done comfortably.
Now standing on my Cuda14 is much earlier. If I know I was gonna be standing a lot, I'd look into a Cuda for sure. It's just a little slower than a Kraken but definitely more stable and with the seat in the high position, It makes sitting back down a lot easier.

I'm not a stander, but if you want a kraken and want to stand you may want to consider the 13.5...little bit wider and shorter, but all same features as 15.5, and I bet standing would be easier.
The 13.5 also has a high position for the seat...
I definitely like the Kraken 13.5 over my old Cuda14s...

Maybe not an aircraft carrier---more of a destroyer (of fish, that is).
