I usually fish the Russian and Gualala, and if I feel energetic I'll drive to the Trinity or Klamath, but I've only fished the Eel once because its got suck a terrible reputation for being muddy after a storm and is so iffy for water conditions.  That being said I wonder if there is a cfs flow range that allows the river to be fishable?  Loleta Eric can you respond to this?

Only just now saw this.  CFS and how muddy the Eel will be is a moving target - the past couple of years the slides up around Leggett have been very active, so the South Fork is holding color to a lower CFS than it used to.  Used to be that 2000 CFS at Miranda meant green water - albeit a little pushy.  Now it's closer to 1000 that's greening up around Miranda, and that's a little slower than I like it.

CFS and water clarity, access points, creeks, history, recent catch trends, techniques...etc. all reviewed as part of my trips.

You know it, Glyn - the ones that get away leave you pretty crushed sometimes.

Thanks Loleta Erik.  I've never felt comfortable making the drive using guesswork.  This gives me something to look at.
