Greetings,

I'm new to kayak fishing and am really glad I found this group. After watching a bunch of videos online and seeing some people kayak fishing I decided to buy a pair of used kayaks and give it a try. I have a little kayaking experience from kayak camping down in Baja and a paddling around Monterey Bay, but have never gone fishing from a kayak. Fishing wise, I have a 12' aluminum boat that I used to take all around to go crabbing in Puget Sound many years ago. Now it's sitting up in Coos Bay, OR and I take it out a couple of times a year.

I'm located in Walnut Creek.

Cheers,
John

Thanks for the welcome. I have taken note of the great safety and gear info on the site. I definitely want to hookup with someone when the time comes to give the ocean a try. For now, I'm fishing in a nice warm lake to test out the kayaks.
