My boy Sean White who definitely deserves some credit on this boat. Of course if you hate it, blame him. lol
Sean getting some love ... or hate! :smt044

Great looking boat. I'd love to get outside of Humboldt Bay or Shelter Cove on one for a little tour. :smt001
-
I likes.
-
Nice design!
-
Eric I've only paddled an early prototype but it paddled beautifully. I will let everyone know how she performs when I get one.
-
Does it come in non dbaggy color schemes too? ;) can we get a side by side vs a thresher and say a 4.7?
-
loox like a pretty bad ass boat
-
Nice, cant wait...

Does it come in non dbaggy color schemes too?
Jackson has about a zillion color options and they also have a program where you can order any color scheme you want.

Thats just too funny lmao. There should be a thresher vs kraken shootout.

One of my awesome concept drawings for our bait tank system.
Pretty much an exact copy of the Raptor, from when I showed this to Jim at the Fred Hall show...
Oh well,,, what's that they say about imitation?
-
I actually proposed that idea for the several yaks over the years for several MFGs including MK and OK. I have wanted it for ages. I hate dragging a pump.
I haven't seen your version but I'll take a look.
-
I looked at your site and I see what you mean. Very similar!
I had originally wanted the one in Kraken to be in the TW like yours but Tony the hull designer moved it to under the seat to the lowest point in the hull to make sure it would always be primed. It will make rigging a bit harder but it should work well.
Over the years it seems like all ideas like center hatches, rigid seating, and now drop in pods start on one boat and get co-opted and improved over each generation of boat.

Sexy yak for sure! I dream of something like this stretched another 2 feet to 17'.

Jim: A lot of people are using live bait offshore. I’ve built custom bait tanks for years, always dragging a pump. They bang on the hull, catch on kelp and weeds. I wanted a better way to do it. I’m not hip to putting a pump inside the kayak either. If you have a failure it is catastrophic. If you go through a scupper that isn’t designed for it you have a priming issue.
I am super excited that we came up with a specially designed bait tank scupper. It’s never been done that I’ve seen. We had to change the JKrate – it’s the KKrate now. The plumbing is very clean. The intake comes in from the bottom. You don’t need tubing all over the sides of the boat.
Wow... " It's never been done that I've seen " I just lost all respect.

One word ... patents!

All the kayak manufacturers steal from each other. Some more blatant than others. It's like the wild west. The false advertising is all over the place too.
-
The fact that it's used isn't an issue. What pisses me off is the blatant claim that Sammons claims it's his idea. He know's damm well where and when he's seen that implemented. In fact, it appears to be an exact copy. Now that's just shameless. :smt009
Makes me wonder how much input he actually had in the " design" .
BTW,,, Bet you didn't know,, I invented the internet. :smt044 :smt044 :smt044
