60ft off Tioga on whole squid. Sliding sinker w/4oz and 3ft leader to 5/0 octo & 4/0 treble. I was slowly trolling across the bottom. First fish went 43" 34lbs and second fish went 40" 26lbs. The two biggest fish I've ever caught off my yak...stoked!

Fish #1

Fish #2

NSFC (not safe for crotch)

Safer in the tankwell but Alex still got attacked by one of my halibut...it was the crazy/funniest thing I've seen! More on that later--I'm exhausted.

THANK YOU MBK for another great event! I look forward to this each year and still can't believe I won a new kayak.
That's the little one on top...even with its tail in the handle, she jumped 3ft onto Alex's chest and attacked him. Too funny.  :smt044

If I gotta lose the title, good to lose it to you Pat.  Those are some serious halis, one might say fish of a lifetime.  Twice.

 Congrats !!!

MBK - thanks  for making my third MBK tourney another wonderful event

SCALLEN - So much of what happens in NCKA is because of you. You Da Man !!!

In the game of biggest fish, if you can't enjoy routinely gettin' your ass handed to you, by great fishermen, then you don't belong in the NCKA.

Pat,

Congrats and it was a great time being out with you guys. To bad I had to go back to Alien since I can't leave my wing man. Good to see you and watch you hookup with those butts.

CONGRATULATION PAT! That first halibut was Huge...when i seen that monster i had a good feeling that my record halibut of 32.8lbs from SCAllens Santa Cruz derby of July 2005 was going to be broken. And with that 33.9lbs or we will just say 34, pound :smt003 Halibut you did just that. and to make sure you got first place, you catch that second halibut that i should of kept since  it didn't want to stay in your kayak and wanted to be with me instead :smt003 That fish surprise the hell out of Pat, Daniel, Steven and especially me when i was parked beside Sincoast to take a picture i uncovered the beast and was getting ready to take the picture when the butt took one big flop and landed on my lap. I had to give it a bearhug and hogtied it from knocking me off my kayak. So, I literally caught a 26lb halibut! Butt, I had to give it back  :smt009 :smt010 :smt003

After all that excitement and time was running down we headed back to MBK but not be for Steven/splashdown and I limited out on rockcod.

We all had a great time and thanks again Allen for keeping these Derby's going and to Andy/fishmaster and crew for the good eats.

A BIG THANK YOU to everyone who came out to MBK's tournaments this year!  I saw more fish this year than the last 3 years combined...  Lings as far as the eye could see!

Also thanks to everyone who helped us out on land!

Holokai

P.S.  Pat, I stole a pic of you and your hali from this thread to put on the MBK facebook page.  Hopefully thats ok!  Also if you decide to upgrade to the 4.3 just bring back the prowler in the next day or two....  :)

Dude no worries on borrowing a pic for MBK's FB page! I love MBK! You have my full permission Holokai (-:
24hrs later and I'm still excited!

Couple more pics.

It took me over an hour to process the fish. But I ended up with 16 full gallon ziplocks of halibut fillets. Although, I got raided by Andy & crew last night LOL! If anybody else wants some halibut, come over to my house and pick it up.
