I'm new to kayaks, having just purchased a Trident 13 after spending a lot of time researching various yaks.  Posts on this board helped me make that decision. Now I have a bare hull and am eager to accessorize it, but want to spend more time on the water before making any big decisions. If anyone else in the area needs a buddy and doesn't mind that I'm a newbie, please let me know. I'm interested in salt or freshwater, though all my gear is salt water oriented at present, having fished saltwater exclusively since I was a kid.
My wife got a necky vector 13, not a fishing yak, but very fun to paddle. We're also both interested in doing some scuba diving from our yaks (not spearfishing) so would be glad to tag along on diving trips too.
Looking forward to meeting some of you in the future.

Welcome Matt,
I also am located in Fresno and hit a lot of local water.
Feel free to look me up for any local intell.
I usually fish either Sunday or Mondays (my days off) and can be found the rest of the time at Fisherman's Warehouse on the corner of Shaw and Blythe. Give me a call and we can hook up for some water therapy.

See Ya Soon,
Eric / Yakhopper

Matt, welcome aboard.
I'm a newbie here too. My name is Eric & I live in Visalia. I've been at it for about 6 years now, & have only hit freshwater so far. Primarily all the lakes above Fresno. Tore it up at Wishon in Sept/Oct.
I want to make the leap to salt water as well, but need to pull the trigger on the new yak, as I only have a sit inside - for now.  Just haven't got around to it. Life gets in the way I suppose.  I'll keep an eye this forum, and see how you progress, and I'll try and post my outings in the hookups. At the very least, we can meet up at the lakes, and hopefully tag along with the knowledgeable ones who can help us cut our teeth on the saltwater.
Be good.

Thanks for the recent replies. December and January will be tough for me to find local fishing time due to work and family responsibilities, but i am looking forward to fishing with all of you before too long.
