I have no idea were I could get a sheet of the plastic used by hobbie
I have repaired a kayak useing a cutting board
But would prefer a better match in material if going that route

Contact Hobie. They may have such a thing to match your existing color.

Brainstorming...I wonder if those thin plastic sheets they sell in the kitchen section in the drugstore would work, it comes in different colors and is for a quick clean surface for cook prep... :smt006

^^^This. I contacted Ocean Kayak and they sent me a bunch of plastic sheets and welding rod for free. I bet Hobie would do something similar. Practice on a 5 gallon bucket for a bit first.

Pictures might help. Not to be a bummer, but I doubt you will find a replacement without paying an arm and a leg, at a minimum.
Please don't spoil my day, I'm miles away...

If you can't get enough plastic from Hobie, and the worn area is deep, it'll take more than a single layer to fill it.  Fill it most of the way with another HDPE and use what Hobie sends as the top layer, but Hobie is usually pretty good about sending more than enough.

There's a decent thread on NWKA about kayak repairs, and a couple of members are really knowledgeable.  Might ask a question over there.  http://www.northwestkayakanglers.com/index.php?topic=19254.0
