Where can I catch a YellowEye Rockfish?  I heard they are the best tasting rockfish.

They like it deep and are closed anyway.  Try oregon.
The legend lives on from the Chippewa on down

I think the feds have closed all yelloweye retention on the West Coast. They are particularly slow growing, even for rockfish. I've caught them here in WA, near the bottom in 200'+ of water. IMO- they're pretty tough with coarse grain texture to the flesh. I prefer blacks, among all the rockfish.

Most all the of the fish closures are Federally mandated and the States write rules to comply. Besides, it takes a lot of fish eyes to make a meal.

I have to agree with MolBasser on the trolling.
