I've had my Revo 13 for about 4 years now and really like it, but it does not come without its challenges. I have long been critical of the Revo's cockpit and rounded bow hatch design-(everything slides off of it). I have been considering moving into an outback for a while, but have yet to take advantage of the many opportunities to try one. I have really come too appreciate the well thought out design of the Outback's cockpit, concave bow hatch, and storage options. It just seems like a very functional fishing kayak. I guess my only hangup is the additional weight (almost 20#), almost 4" of girth, and shorter overall length. All of these factors would seem to effect speed and efficiency over distance, but also provide more stability and comfort. Please share your thoughts and experiences. Thanks Mike

Try a trident 13, solves all problems.
Not to be smart but I did my first fishing trip in a outback.
Very stable but a barge to paddle
I do see advantage of the peddle when fishing thou
But for me my trident is better all around.
May get outback for fresh water were not going any distance per say
I found revo 13 tippy but I am 250
Have one of each then you can fish anything

I have a Trident, actually my second one of a long list of previous OK's, now with about 4 years of dust on it since I have not used it since jumping into the Revo. Cheers

A deja vu moment.  Lots of threads on this topic.  Last time I tried a revo was before the seat change and before I had much ocean time.  I love my outbacks but probably should give the revo a try again.

I've spent a lot of time in the entire Hobie lineup, and for my needs the Outback is the way to go.  Tons of storage, super stable, comfortable in the river/lake/ocean, able to transport it myself easily, it's definitely the sport utility vehicle of the lineup.

I have the Revo13, I test drove the Outback a few times and the critical piece that I didn't like was the water splash I got when the wind/waves that splash over directly to my face as you're moving.

I like the Revo 13 because it's lighter and faster, I'm on my 2nd Rev13 now. :)

Tons of info that others have posted here, do a quick search.
