After years with the same brand, and many other yaks before that, the force of the dark side has pulled me in.
After going over the many choices, positives and negatives, the new yak had to be similar to what I am used to, and must paddle as well as peddle. A little wider (28.5") than my Ultra (28") and similar stability, the choice had to be the Hobie Revo-13. Another bonus is the lighter weight compared to the outback.
And who could ask for a better color

I'll try to add my review after a few trips on the water.

I am also looking for one of these. Where did you purchase it from?
And how much?

Great choice, but be careful on the dark side, as you might soon find yourself irresistibly drawn toward an AI...
-
Congrats on your new ride, Eric. I'm sure that it'll attract fish.
-
Nice Bro!
Congrats on allowing yourself to ride a different type of plastic!
You will slay on it no doubt.
I'm sure Lasorda likes the color :smt001

Purchased from CCK (California Canoe and Kayak). Many retailer's offered me a similar price for same yak, but as CCK was the dealer that donated the drive I won, decided they earned the sale. It was a pleasure dealing with Tammy, Keith, and all the crew, and would highly recommend them if they are in the area you are looking.
Thanks again,
;0)

Finally living up to your name! Congrats on the entrance to the Dark Side :smt003

Great choice! I think you will be very happy with it! A little maintenence on the manage drive will keep it running smooth (lots of YouTube videos on that).
-
Nice, that's likely my next one also!
-
Congrats on the new ride, yes the revo is the middle of pedal and paddle.sorry but not a fan of the color.
On a different note, your front tie down, could you share some info on it?

Made the hood loops out of old strap's, bolted to fender bolt under hood.
Out of sight when not in use, pop hood and pull out when needed.
Use a hot nail or solder iron to make hole in strap for mounting (https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20170709/9c1c86512760bc16192a24a56dea9e5e.jpg)(https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20170709/21cc79c0c97349e8b2c9e263510dce4c.jpg)

This set up works great. Learned it from the super modder Tote. I got a little lazy and just tied it to the metal piece next to the bolt.

Winning :smt003

Oh don't pay attention to his answer, because he got an $800 discount in the ARW raffle. I'm glad he went with his prize offering.

Nice yak,I fish a Jackson big tuna for the width and stability as I am a bigger guy,on normal operating conditions it's dam near impossible to tip the big tuna,I have been on lake Comanche with 30 mile an hour winds and I felt safe, was a bitch to paddle against the wind tho lol, have fun and be safe is what we do.
