Hey guys, so Ive been working on outfitting an OK Prowler 13 for the last several months trying to figure some things out with a lot of trial and error along the way.

One of the last things I’m trying to negotiate is where to mount the fishfinder? It’s a Garmin Striker 4 Plus. I’ve already got the transducer and the battery squared away, the last thing is where to place the monitor. I think I’d like to have it close so I don’t have to bend over and stretch so far either mounted midship between my legs or at my side on the gunwale. I can do both without interfering with paddle stroke and plan on running cables inside the hull but I’m not sure which will workout better in the long run under real conditions.

If anyone has any input or it would be appreciated.

Thanks,

Brandon

I mounted mine with the factory mount on a piece of 1X6 the length of the cut out for the tackle tray in the middle. Strap it down for use and run the cables through the hatch then when you need to prepare for surf launches or landings just toss the whole mess into a bag in the hull.

Haven't used it many times like this but it works, it's simple, light (might float depending on the wood species you choose) and you can bring it inside to preview or review chart's and routes on your couch!

Thanks Tsuri, that’s actually how I started but I found I wanted it either closer or higher so I don’t have to bend forward so far and also I wanted to keep that area a bit more clear for emptying crab traps
