Any of you Sonoma County regulars ever catch sand dab up here? I caught one once at Timber Cove and immediately sent it back down as bait but I get the impression that they aren't as common further north.

Given all the juvenile halibut that was out here this year, you might try fishing in 70 to 80'.  I'd go out for sand dabs for live bait and you can eat whats left.

Going to have to give it a try...
Please don't spoil my day, I'm miles away...

You will have a blast fishing for stripers on the Pajaro or Salinas Rivers.  Just think, a place where a striper will actually BITE! Yaks or BAnk fishing.  I'llshow you.

Ok,  this is starting to feel like a setup.  Bushy,  what did you get me into man?  Am I going to get some sort of gangland style beat down initiation?    :smt003

Steve S put the "O" in OG.  The second guy I ever met that kayak fished. (Lo, these many years ago)  He taught me how to catch sturgeon.  It is a big challenge with a gigantic reward!  Use the search function for "Sturgeon" or "Dinos" and read about those adventures circa 2003-2004-2005.  And, then GO FOR IT!

I lend you boat, paddle, pfd, (and an anchor for sturgeon fishing). Indefinite loan till you get your own boat.  Come over this evening we'll load it all up.  You already got the rod and reel.
