We will be camping at Westside Campground by Spud Point Marina next month. It is late in the crab season so not sure if dropping traps is still worth it. If so, is there anywhere to drop them in the overall harbor/campground area or do I need to paddle out through the jetty into the bay to drop them? Thanks for any advice.

You can score a lot of rock crab there by the jetty.  But for the dungies you will want to head out to the open ocean.

I crabbed once at SP marina with no luck. I have heard of people getting crab there but not limits. There is a concrete pier there that is pretty narrow but opens up in the middle. Post a report if you do crab on the SP pier, it would be nice to know if you are able to get some crab from there. I went there before I had a kayak.
