I'm in!!!   (see the "it works" post above)

Looks like textbook conditions.  I'm thinking of launching from Buck's Landing so that I can fish until sunset and still be able to get back to shore.  You can't get back to the beach at China Camp if the tide goes minus.

Looks like a launch at about 10:30 or 11:00 and fish till sunset if necessary... see tide chart below.

I'm in also, text book tides and fishing with KZ Sturgeon killer should be a blast.  Curious where we can buy the bait and the amount per person.  How do you get to bucks?

Buck's is # 15 on the following hyperlink...

As for bait... You can get it at Western Boat or Loch Lomond, both of which are off of the south side of the San Pedro Road loop... Western bait is right on the street... the loch lomond bait shop is a floating shack at the boat ramp at loch lomond marina.

I usually get 1/2 lb of grass shrimp and at least 2 dozen ghost shrimp.  It's about $20 worth of bait.  Sometimes I forego the grass shrimp completely and just get 3 or 4 dozenn ghost shrimp.

I usually go through most or all of the bait but occasionally will use only very little of it.  You never know.

Some guys use lamprey eel too.  It's expensive but you can keep using it over and over... soaking it in it's juices and freezing it between uses.  They'll put a slice of eel on one hook and live shrimp on the other.  The crabs and junk fish won't destroy the eel.

I got some nice sturgeon on herring
i always bring some with the shrimp :smt016

and a ten pounder is more then you need you will be just fine
with that you could put 3 kayaks on that

You want about 10 feet of heavy bungie cord between you and the anchor too so you don't get jerked around.  I use a shroom too.
The legend lives on from the Chippewa on down
Of the big lake they call Gitche Gumee
Superior, they said, never gives up her dead
When the gales of November come early.
