2014 PIF Recipient

Very sad to report that the daughter of a long time NCKA member (porky aka lingless pig aka bp aka Brent Pass) is fighting for her life up at Stanford Children's ICU right now....

Brent texted me yesterday and reported what was going on with his daughter Hailey:

Friday shehad super crazy fever. Labored breathing. She woke of choking and suffocating. Rushed her to dominican. Stayed a few days there but the doctor finally said they cant treat her, you only get one doc visit and three nurse visits a day. Eventually we consumed there whole team. We got transfered to standfotd ICU cause she wasnt sure shed make it through the night in santa cruz.

As of this morning they are still up at the Stanford ICU.

Brent's wife Raquel just lost her job as well, and they were already struggling financially. 

The Ahulls have voted unanimously to make Hailey Pass the recipient of PIF 2014 $, until she is recovered and medical bills are paid.

I will be transferring $ from the AOTY/DOTY account to Brent, leaving enough to cover the prize plaques that have been promised to the AOTY/DOTY winners.

And for those of you who don't know Brent he is the one who started the Pay it Foreward with our backing.....Very sad to hear this terrible news!

Man, every parent's worst nightmare!  Brent is a good dude.  My thoughts and prayers are with his family and daughter.

^^Many people do not realize this, which is why I know we will REALLY come through for Brent and his family right now.

I support this decision Jim. I have been in touch with Brent for the last few days. What an ordeal. As Brent was instrumental in the concept and implementation of the first PIF, it seems fitting that we should support his family in their time of need. My thoughts and prayers are for a speedy recovery for Hailey.

Sharing this info because I want to be open and honest and upfront about where money paid for AOTY/DOTY and/or donated to PIF goes:

Current PayPal balance is $4,059.42 (see attached screenshot from this morning).

This is primarily $ from AOTY/DOTY reg fees and a few donations for PIF and recently Hailey.

$600 of that will go to Piscean Plaques for top three in AOTY/DOTY.

Another $600-700 will go to plaques for "BigFish" in both AOTY and DOTY.

I will keep $1,300 in the account to cover the cost of the plaques and anything above that will be given to Hailey.

Today I will transfer $2,759 to the checking account I created for PIF and write Brent a check for that same amount and work with him to get him that $ ASAP.

Any other donations that come in will be handled the same.
