When do the salmon typically start showing up in the American?  More specifically, the barbed area between Ancil and Jiboom.  Last year we hit the first week of October and Noaoki nailed two monsters.  Also, anyone have a good reference to a fishing report in that area?

My buddy told me that friends of his buddy 😁 caught some 2+ weeks ago near Howe so I went out for a couple of hours 10 days ago but no sign of them. 3 PB was on the water with me and no one got a single bite and no one saw any salmon jump.

Right on..thanks Moo!  I'm itching to get out there.  Was there last year with a bunch of the guys and they were jumping all over the place.  Noaoki was the only one who caught any though.  They were jumping in his boat.  See you out there soon!

I was told the ocean salmon we caught this weekend out of the gate are American river salmon. Lots of 8#'rs and some toads mixed in.
There are salmon in the river now, but next moon cycle will bring them in good numbers I think.

Salmon is slow this year. I personally went 3 x so far on the sac river from freeport to miller with no fish reported or seen.i have herd  the normal 1 catch at spots on flying Cs but the sacramento area has yet to have a real 2019 salmon bite soon i think. For the american. Traditionaly September to november is good on the American. same tactics. Kwik fish and spiners or the controversial flossing with the new 6 foot. Leader. All catch salmon . sac state up to Bradshaw hasnt had many salmon reported yet. have heard or a few. Like 3 fish to date. I think if we ever get rain or a cold front moves inn we just might have some fish push up
