Posted in another thread, but was out there Sunday and saw two separate incidents where kayakers flipped amd had to be rescued by surfers. MSW listed surf as 5-7' so be forewarned that specific height is too hectic to land safely. 2 out of the 3 yaks landing that day Had to be dragged outta the surf by surfers. Kayaks were recovered as rockaway will just toilet boil your yak around until it spits it up near shore.

11/24 saw two separate incidents of kayaks flipping at rockaway. Surf was listed as 5-7 get but looked more like 5-12'. 3 kayaks were coming in total, only 1 made it without eating it. Surfers to the rescue, literally paddled people in... Kayaks were left to drift but eventually washed up on shore. Really scary situation - 1 guy wasn't wearing a wetsuit.

If you have a stock seat sitting around for a twist n lock style hobie I'm interested. If you've upgraded and have your old seat sitting in the corner of the garage give me a shout!

Craftsmen's Corner / Re: Oil based hobie painting.

Sign painter by trade, just putting my two cents in here. There's a product called Aquacoat that's made by Ronan. It's a water based lettering enamel that is a 1-2 coat paint that adheres to plastic very well. I'd recommend it for general lettering or painting. Needs application with a foam roller or natural hair brush but is one off the few paints that sticks to plastics well albeit salt water exposure will destroy most all paints over time.

Any recommendations on a fishing lure bag for the yak? Rolled my yak on a surf entry today and lost a really old beat up bag so I was hoping to upgrade.
