holiday tradition

holiday traditions. Christmas Eve is always been potato soup. before the depression it was always oyster soup. during the Depression when the oysters were a bit expensive dad's side of the family used beef and my mom's side of the family bacon. mom put them both together to appease both sides of family and it's been family tradition since I was in diapers. what is your tradition and is there a story behind it

Before we all moved to the coast where nothing is open Christmas morning,  we would all go to Denny's every year at 0500. Usually a $300 + breakfast with a $100+ tip. Then head to TLW's grandparents house for presents. Now we all pitch in for a home cooked version at our oldest son's house with the whole fam damily.
