the best tasting fish is the one that I've caught and prepared myself :smt044
never been disappointed.

I would say that my favs are:
white seabass
halibut
striped bass
lingcod

I really like thresher shark, but haven't eaten it in a loooong time. still bringing the dang tailrope out when there is bait around though!

I concur with anything I caught and cooked. But hands down, the best fish I ever ate, was a bass out of Lake Wildwood by Auburn. It was my son's first fish. I think the flavor of pride and enjoyment in watching him eat his first fish, seasoned out any muddy taste that fish may have had. Same with my daughter's first trout. Rule #32 Gotta enjoy the little things

This!

That said, I am assuming the question was for west coast fish, as I did not see Walleyes on any lists. They're awfully good! Locally, Cabezon and Lings, wild trout, sturgeon, halibut
Warning! Retiree; Knows it all and has plenty of time to tell you about it.

Being new to the area I can only go with what I know.

Walleye - hands down is the best fish I have ever eaten.
Northern Pike - Depending on the season they can be a little fishy.
Perch
Crappie - Ice fishing is the best time to eat them.

Other than those I am not a huge fish fan. I love to fish, but find myself turned off to the fishy taste of most fish. I prefer the milder tasting non "Fishy" flavor. I am open to trying about anything.

In short, if you ever want to stock your fridge with more than your personal limit invite me since I don't eat much fish.
