I need to get out with you sometime Alex. I've never caught a perch from shore.... 3 years going to this tournament and still have never caught one haha. Next time I head down there I'll hit you up and see if you're game?

Alex is the "man"!!! And he will show you all his secrets. But some things you and I will just have to learn by experience. For me, it is reading those troughs, holes and rips where these creatures congregate.  :smt010. As the saying goes, "we can't catch what ain't there".

By the way, do you know who won this year's Sand Crab Classic?

Nah... I didn’t stick around at portugese hall. Didn’t see any familiar faces so I just left before the judging. Saw the name mentioned somewhere but I don’t think it was a NCKA’er.

You saw it here 1st.  BTW Ryan.....I saw you heading down the parking lot I thought you were just going to get food.  couldn't find you the rest of the day.  I still have your tshirt saved from last year or two years ago, wanted to give it to ya at the derby.  You are always welcome to join me surfcasting I go all the time.  But if Alex Bulldoggie has convinced everyone he's more productive than me (and Alien) then so be it.  I'd love to fish with you soon anyway.

Sorry for the late post. I had a blast at the Sand Crab classic. I decided to fish Montara most of the day. Started off well, using gulp worms and catching a red tail then a BSP. After that, I had a bunch of small fish. I decided to try a larger grub and then some big sand crabs for nothing. I went back to the gulp worms for more small to medium sized fish. Called it, and went to Pomponio for nothing. I was able to get a good variety of perch. Overall, caught a lot of fish, just nothing of size. The event was fun. Good food and good people. This is my second year and will look forward to it again next year.
