Well party people... Mendo was pretty much shut down. I fished with Ken and Erik (gto19) for the most of the morning. Not much happening except, Ken did manage to catch a real nice 9 #er though. But, that was it for the action. After hearing that the hot bite was in the afternoon. Ken and I decided to stick it out and give it a try. Yeah... hot bite alright... nada. I quite a bit earlier than Ken did. As I was loading up, a local talked to me a bit about the fishing. Seems like somebody has been doing something to the water levels during the week. Whatever they are doing is turning the bite off. That totally blows... anyways, I still had a good time paddling around with Ken and Erik. Bad fishing with good company still beats sitting around the house.

I got 2 stripers on Sunday from 2:30 to 3 pm.   All fish were caught on drifting minnows.  Minnows are a lot bigger at the Pit Stop in Lakeport on the water at Clear Lake.  Takes about 20 to 30 mins to get there from Mendo.  Or you can drop by there first on the way up from the Bay Area.
The fish were around 7 to 8 lbs and the 9 lb was on Sat.
