I have been doing some research trying to find out what kayaks out there in the mainstreak market have the highest weight capacity out there.  The highest i have found was on the Ride 135 and the X-factor which are both right around the 550 mark...

from all of your guys experience and knowledge, does anyone know of a yak that has comparable weight allowance or even greater. weight capacity is my #1 issue with me being a bigger guy (285#) and i want to make sure that i am not going to instantly weight it down and have the water sitting right at the threshold of pouring in on me right after i sit in on it... any feedback would be greatly appreciated.

I think the prowler big game is at 600lbs capacity. not exactly sure though. I am over 350 lbs. and my prowler big game floats me high and dry.

The Jackson kayak "Big Tuna" has a weight capacity of 575lbs.
Its a tandem kayak but by removing the front seat and moving the back seat to the middle, it paddles as a solo kayak.
A lot of the bigger JK teammates are using the Big Tuna as there primarily kayak.
The High/Low seat will also keep you comfortable and your butt dry all day :smt006

Seems that's what my OB weighs when I have to tow it to any water when it's loaded. :smt044

OK Trident Ultra 4.7 500-550#

My yak is heavy but it holds quite a bit of weight.  Plenty of leg room too for taller dudes.

I have paddled the OK Drifter and this wasn't too bad a little wet but stable and safe, X-Factor is the big guy kayak for most gear hauling and what I use mostly when diving and fishing. OK Ultra 4.7 is what I fish with when not planning on diving and is the dryest. Any of these would do you fine!

All of those are good choices. If you want to try the Ride 135 i can meet you sometime. It has a high or low seat option. I can bring both. I like the high, but being larger you may like the low. Low in the ocean for sure. Since you are in sac area at least part time it looks i can mmeet just about anytime.

my trident 15 says 500-550.  At my heaviest I was 287 and had no problems with capacity.  I have heard second hand that x factors that have that lower hatch in the tankwell can leak when weighed down.  The edge of the hatch can go underwater.  Never tested it myself though.

paddled the big game, and did not really care for the way it paddles.

cobra triple 850# capacity
looks like it is discontinued... and for whatever reason I'm not really keen on those grooves being pre molded into the side of the kayak(on the inside) i don't like he look and i like it when the adjustables are on the inside i would love to check one of them out if they didn't have all them dang grooves to it lol gut the seats and install all new stuff. that thing would be  a Cadillac
