For those attending this weekend's Caples Lake event I would like to stress that you clean your yak, gear (paddle, pfd, waders, etc) before you come if you have been in another freshwater location within the last couple of weeks. We are trying to prevent the spread of invasive species    :violent5:  on the Eldorado Nat'l Forest.

Please take a moment to review the following pdf  :downtown:

Doesn't mean they are actually doing inspections does it?

It doesn't say this is mandatory but we should lead by example. If it is possible please help with this matter.

Some concessionaires are doing inspections at some of our lakes (no charge) since this a state requirement with the water districts.

It is a voluntary program, but like Eric said lead by example. If you show up with mud all over your yak I'll have something to say  :smt075

The only reason I asked, is because we will be pre-fishing all weekend and our boats are likely to be wet from it.  That and we will have no place to store them inside afterward either and for them to dry fully need to have the hatches open.  So, its not like i'm trying to sneak my dirty mussel infested boat into their lake... but i'm guessing that the thought of a lot of kayakers coming from a lot of different places is more likely to have a possible infestation on board is the reason they are concerned.  Also, it just sounds like it would be a huge headache to have to have everyone get inspected before the tourney start.

I will flush out the Delta mud before I come up and throw in a little bleach to just be sure.  I will be pre fishing/jetskiing at Tahoe Saturday---they are really tough on the PWC's there, but don't care about the yaks.  But--- I agree best to clean and flush to set an example.-----Jeff
