Hi all- tried posting this once. Let’s try again.

Time to sell my 2019 hobie kayak , with all the gear to get wet and fishy.

Second kid is here and i only used my boat once in 2021, so rather see her in better hands getting fishy rather than rot in my garage.

Normal light wear on hull. Seat and pedals flawless

Comes with original hull, seat, paddle , 180 ST turbo pedals w/ reverse

Gearing Up and Rigging Up / Yakima Roof Racks and 2019 Outbacks
« on: October 23, 2019, 08:25:30 AM »
Hey all,

So after having a child, my 2003 Extended Cab Tacoma wont cut it. That, paired with my commute for work, we're selling off the Taco and I put a roof rack on my commuter Civic as my new dad car/fishing machine....(haha)

So, the question: Anyone else use Yakima roof racks or the like? I have to aero core bars, so now I need the saddles for the bars. Does anyone have any input for those? From the looks of the styles, the Yakima BigCatch are the only ones that are rated to carry over 80lbs.

Does anyone use something else? These Yakima Evenkeel are cheaper and honestly look like they will conform a little better to the outbacks semi-flat bottom without denting it.

Any input or experience would be appreciated

For Sale / Reduced: Shimano Terez and Daiwa Saltist 4000 spin
« on: October 19, 2019, 10:19:15 AM »
Hey guys and gals.

Selling a great setup, used twice.

New Terez 7’ medium fast Terez. This year it’s new construction, spiral X blank. Crazy strong and light.

Sealed Daiwa Saltist 4000 spinning reel, with 250 yards of 30 lb braid.

Bought for my wife, since she doesn’t enjoy conventional reels. She ended up enjoying another rig I already owned, so there went that idea. I used it hard twice for Lings and Rocks and got 1 butt.  Always rinsed.

It’s a really enjoyable setup for jigging, bouncing and casting.  Great action and ludicrously strong if you haven’t fished a Terez yet. 20-50lb rated.  Don’t need it so thought I’d see if someone is in the market.

Paid about $270 for rod and $210 + braid and tax- but would take $300 if that’s fair. That’ll buy my new reel I need 👍  Bought at Bay Tackle.

Going to throw it in CL also- just thought I’d see if there was a need here.
Let me know if interested or PM an offer. Happy hunting.

Hookups and Fishing Reports (Viewable by Public) / HMB 10/6/19 Report

Hey all-

Met a few people out there this past Sunday. Heard it’s been getting slow but wanted to try out the new down rigger so had to get out there.

The weather was phenomenal with a launch right at dawn. 2-3 kts of wind most of the day, occasionally more, and less at times. Almost no swell.

Right after sunrise I passed a yak with a fish on. He said it felt good, and was fishing about 25’ of water ( hope you got it man)! Lots of bait in the morning and 2 whales played in the area for about an hour.

Long of the short was trolled 8 hours. Got a good strike and hold up for about 10 seconds. Buddy did the same about 100 yards from me. Other than that, two small lings and a nice lunch (🤢) from the gas station on the drive down was the highlight of my trip.
Great day to go fishing but the catching was slow.

Didn’t hear or see any others that day.

Introductions / Introduction
« on: October 02, 2019, 05:09:10 PM »
Hey Ladies and Gents.

Names Brian. I live out in west marin and after living in a sailboat for 5 years in the bay and being the weirdo trolling for salmon I’m my sailboat, I’ve finally jumped into the kayak world.

Tried my buddies Hobie outback out and two weeks later I owned my own. I mostly fish for food so been stoked to have such a crazy productive halibut season. Got many in the bay and a handful at Tomales. Just now getting into the ocean scene now mostly due to the fact that I normally fish alone and something spooky about heading offshore in a kayak by yourself.

Anyhow, pleased to meet you all and look forward to trying an event to meet some of you folks.
