General Talk / Re: Stolen yellow kayak
« on: June 05, 2015, 12:57:14 PM »
I strapped my yak on my rack the night before I was leaving to San Luis Res a few months back.
I was super paranoid about it getting stolen.
I ended up putting a bike lock through the scupper hole and onto the racks.
Bummer man! I hope your buddy finds his yak in good order.
People who steal s*!t pisses me off. I feel for him.

Hey albycor,
Tides. Has high tide or low tide produced more fish for you?
I've been itching to get out there to Marina or any other beach to try my luck.
Might head up there on Sunday. My son's baseball games have taken up a lot of my time, so time is hard to come by. lol. Also have been contemplating heading out after work for some afternoon/ night fishing but I don't know what parking is like at night for any beach.
You've been killing it out there oh mighty striper slayer :smt044 :smt006

I roll with my perception pescador 12 atop my pumpkin
Quick question. Do you strap the front and back down when transporting?
I currently do that now but have seen multiple cars on the road transporting kayaks with no front or back straps.
I would much rather not use the front and back straps since its f'ed the paint job on my car.
Let me know!  :smt006
Thanks!

Hi Triangleleguna,
How can I get in on this? Would love to go out on the opener. Never mooched before but I'd be down to give it a try.
It would be $80 each correct? How would payment work out?
Let me know if getting on the list is possible, If not its all good.  :smt001
Thanks,

GS

General Fishing Tips / Re: surf fishing
« on: September 26, 2014, 02:48:09 PM »
Perch can be caught year round. I usually us a MORF colored 2" grub, #2 bait holder and a 12"-20" leader depending on conditions. 1 oz weight. Carolina rigged. I've had good success in beach's from moss landing to Monterey. I would start working you local beaches and go from there. I've heard Capitola is a good spot but have never fished there.
Let us know how you do!

Jim,
That is just pure awesomeness! I love the fact that your daughter goes with you.
Good stuff! Glad she was able to catch all those king fish.
How do you cook king fish?

Thanks!

LOL! I decided to save them for bait...they have been frozen and will be put to good use.  :smt001

Andy wanted to make her eat them raw, but she didn't seem too excited about that.  :smt002 :smt044

I imagine if you scale, gut and fry they would be tasty...but I know they will make great bait in the future as well.  :smt003

 :smt006

Sincerely,

Jim

Bait...Yum!  :smt003
I'm glad Valentina decided to against Andy's wishes. lol
All I know is that lings like them!
Good luck out there.

If so, how much?
Let me know.
