I'm camping at Costanoa near Pescadero.   The birds and whales have been amazing.  I've seen the biggest bird frenzy I've ever witnessed over bait (I'm assuming) near the Pigeon Point lighthouse.

Last night there were 8 or 9 commercial fishing vessels drifting right off Costanoa with crazy bright lights.  Brightest I've seen on a boat... and they were all lit up the same way.

The water looked to be illuminated around them.  I thought they could be fishing for squid.  I saw boats doing that in Mexico.  Does anyone know what these guys were doing out there?  I'm just guessing about the squid.
