Maybe you do already and maybe this isn’t related but, clean your wetsuit after every other trip.  Make sure to pick up a wetsuit specific wash, helps keep the neoprene healthy.  Any surf shop in Santa Cruz should have some, I wash my wetsuits at least every other session.
