I fished a lot off the Monterey Wharf in the 70's. It seemed that Starrys where more common than Halibut back then

I have caught a few over the years.  2 of them came trolling for salmon and bit way up in the water column.  There is no limit for them so there is probably plenty to be had in certain areas.  Brackish water is where they spawn I believe.

I think a sand dollar shortage would instead cause deflation, as in deflating the starry population. Or maybe it's just a case of shrinkflation...

Yes, as you recall I'm not a math guy...I shrinkflated my balloons for the kiddies from a 12" to a 9" to save on helium...nothing personal, just business... :smt006
