Duct seal worked for less time than the pure silicone. But if you are looking for something removable it worked well.

Ran across this the other day, no idea if it works well (or at all).

I've done the goop method and the water bath method. I'm going to give this a try. Thanks for sharing.

I have been using duct seal for about 10 years now, but not how it's shown in the video posted.  Sort of a hybrid between the foam puck and the duct seal method, I shape the duct seal around the transducer to make a form, just roll it out into a snake and then shape around the ducer and then use my fingers to run around the edge of the putty on the outside and inside.  If done properly it never comes off, even in hot sun upside down on my truck for days on end.  Still have to fill it with water before launching (have had my senior moments too) and you have to sort of tend it every once in a while.  But this way I can pull out my ducer/ff and move it between boats without hassle.  Best part is you can install it quickly and the putty costs less than 3$ and it's enough for two installs.

I in camp Al.
Duct seal, used the way he's described. More than 10 years later and the transducer came loose once. I just refitted it into the existing duct seal, and it's been there ever since.

Thanks for the info guys.  I used the 5 minute epoxy and so far it is working OK.  Will try the duct putty on next kayak.

I have also had great results with duct seal. In addition to bedding the transducer in it, I shaped some of the duct seal over edges and some over the top of the transducer to help hold it in place. Not sure if makes a difference but I thought it might be more secure.

+1 on the duct seal. Made a bathtub and fill it with water every trip. Although, I have to wonder if my FF is actually seeing fish down there sometimes… :smt003
