With Omicron now being the prevalent strain going on and not hurting a single soul, The virus has mutated to the point of being like a common cold.

I live out here in Texas and we gave up all those protocols so much sooner that what your state did and we have lower case loads. As a matter of fact so low they don't report it on the news anymore. We go about our daily lives interfacing wit one another, gathering in large groups and no one is getting sick.

There really is nothing to fear about the virus any longer, but I am sure y'all are being pounded daily by the media propaganda.

I got COVID last October and it left me ill for four days. I have compromised lung functions but I beat it by cooking the virus out of my system. I got my zero degree undergarments, put those on, got my zero degree sleeping bag over me, and used two bottle of Niquil to stay in a comatose stage. I broke the fever at day three and began feeling better. COVID did leave a few residuals symptoms, but those were gone in a month.

As an older individual, according to experts I was supposed to die, but here I am, vertical and healthy. To this day my antibodies still show up on my blood tests so that six month crap you here is bunk.

Be free people, have the event with no fear and have a great time.  :smt003 We do down here with HOW and we are just about back to normal operations

I don't like using the word enforce or enforcement because they sound so authoritarian, but they're fitting here and easy to spell.

I think enforcing such a rule would be completely unmanageable when you consider that for it to be effective it would have to apply to everyone in attendance. Friends, Family, Kids over 5, etc.

I don't think it's a bad idea and your motives are clear, I find it frustrating that it needs to be considered, (IMO we should all be vaxed by now).

Having an unenforceable requirement may be worse than no requirement at all in that if you have a large enough group someone will always try to skirt the rule.

I respect any decision that a tournament director makes to keep people safe, adhere to current regulations, and still find some way to bring people together for a good time.  I'll still make my own personal decisions on how I wish to interact with others, whether I feel like I want to wear a mask, or sit at my camp rather than attend a pot luck.  I love NCKA like a big family, and would rather stay cautious.  I'm already boosted and feeling safe at this point.  An option to be rapid tested prior to an event would be courteous to people with specific conditions that don't allow for a vaccination.  But it also gets fuzzy when your bringing the whole family to an event with various stages of vaccination, and want to make sure everyone is safe.  Bottom line, with every tournament ever, there will always be some people that are happy, and some people that are upset over decisions such as these.  Respect the decisions made for the greater good, and attend if your in agreement.

I'm fully vaxed and boosted and probably not attending, but have an opinion (surprise!) People will do whatever the hell they want. Period. I traveled recently and can attest to this, as I'm sure we all can. I have no doubts about what the scientific experts say, and it is quite clear that the risk of transmission outdoors is extremely low. Personally, I think it's slightly ridiculous for people to mask outdoors unless they are in unavoidably dense crowds.

my preference, vaccines or negative test

but would participate regardless

at the end of the day, you do what you need to do to comply with local regs and give yourself some peace.

thanks for holding the event!
Brian.

Could we rely on the "honest" system?  I believe most of our members here are honest people.

Get the shot, don’t get the shot. Who cares.  Let’s just get on with the fishing.

Don't see it as necessary for an outdoor fishing tournament. If someone is that worried, stay home?

I am vaccinated, so that isn't from an anti point of view.

We are all going to eventually get COVID.  Some are going to have mild cases and some will die.  Flu,cold and pneumonia killed many prior to COVID.   Live and jump into the pool of life.

Stock up on Ivermectin. I have over a dozen friends of mine, who are older, take it the first time they knew they had COVID and were done with it in less than four days.
