You might consider Salinas and its , " wild west ways ".    You have all points north and south of the monterey bay. Love it !

I have been thinking about a sabiki rod for a long time. This thread got me thinking and doing some research. I have a love hate relationship with sabiki's. More hate because they seem to snag my clothing an unacceptable number of times when i use them. 

I haven't bought one just yet because they just seem to be overpriced for me. I found this diy online. May give it a shot.
