After seeing Eddie's LockRack, I wanted to try it out for myself.
I've used it for 2 trips. Both trips involving freeways speed and very windy road.
So far it's working flawlessly.
I had to put extra padding down for my AI for better fit due to the hull shape but for my stealth and my poor man's tarpon 120 (upside down),  it's perfect.

That is nice! Much better than using straps.
Please don't spoil my day, I'm miles away...

Go Moo Go!  Nobody's takin' a sawzall to it and I hope the bad guys don't figure some of these things out.  Loved the vid.  I kinda like the hooks on the top but you're saying my discontinued version holds a wider yak?  Either way, see ya on da wattah'! :smt006

Not necessarily the width but the height. They were saying it's hard to fit Hobie PA because of the height on my version.

Nice, those look pretty easy. Funny, I didn't know this existed, but after I saw this post I've seen three of them in the wild, haha.

If you go strapless, and start bouncing up and down, the kayak will pop out eventually.  Just sayin...

Was wondering the same thing..... I do a lot of backroad camping with yaks in tow... not a smooth ride.

But for the quick trip down the road this looks sweet!

Thanks for the vid and review Moo!

Interesting setup. Do you think you could use it like the Thule Outrigger or Yakima Boatloader Evo to help in loading the boat? Extend the outside bar/rack all the way, lean the nose of the kayak  onto it and then lift the rear up? I couldn't tell how far out it can extend.

Cheers,
Brad

When you push the arms in it also puts downward pressure. I find it more secure than the straps.

I've tried it but the arm was not long enough but I've seen some on using a long bar by inserting where the arms go it and using it as a assist. I'll be looking for a metal bar that's going to fit.

I thought it looked a little short. My thought too if it was too short that you could find a tube that would work. Looks like a great setup overall - thanks for the info.

Cheers,
Brad
