Fuzz came out to play...

Whenever I tell Ana I am diving with fuzz she says "oh you mean he is not gonna show up and you are gonna dive alone?" 

I told Harold this and he said that whenever he tells Jazmin that he is diving with me she says "oh you mean you are gonna sleep in and not go diving?"

 

Well on Saturday he actually got out of bed and showed up!!

We went to check a hole where I have seen some big Lings recently but no one was home...

Swam over to a nice looking area that we haven't really explored before and found some nice fishy looking structure and I spotted a nice looking Ling head in a hole...

Told fuzz to go take it and when he went down he saw it had come out and was laying out in the open...I told him to get it and dropped down and watched him nail it with a perfect head shot. 

Not very long at ~29 inches, but nice and meaty and beautiful golden color.

We then moved to another spot and I came across a nice group of good sized blacks...I took two and told Fuzz to take some but he declined...I dropped down just to point some of the nicer ones out to him and then I saw a FAT toad of a black and couldn't resist myself and took her. 

We were both impressed with what a nice specimen she was, especially for Monterey County and at 21.5 inches is my PB.

Then we headed to some deeper water to look for Reds...in no time at all fuzz calls me over and tells me has shot a nice one in a hole and a Ling is trying to eat it. 

I drop down to look and see a MONSTER Red on the end of his shaft floating in front of the hole...hole is all stirred up though so go back up and take some footage of fuzz with the Red.

Red taped out to 23.25 inches and is an absolutely beautiful fish...got some cool screen grabs from the GoPro as well. Nice to be able to get some pics of fuzz cuz he has taken a lot of pics of me in the past. 

Drop down again and the hole has cleared up and see the Ling hiding in the back and take him...nice meaty twin of the previous one.

Start heading in and while swimming I come across a pinnacle with a crack where I took a nice Ling recently...I go down and am looking in the crack and hear fuzz' gun fire...he has taken another Red...surprise surprise. 

We dive around a little more and he sees another Red and calls me over but I can't find it and we both decide we are tired and call it quits and head in.

Hike back out kinda sux cuz I'm out of shape, but we made it back to the car and the cold beer without any mishaps.

Super fun day diving with a good friend...already looking forward to the next time!
